Positive COVID-19 Test at Bloomsburg University

 

BLOOMSBURG—An employee from Bloomsburg University has tested positive for COVID-19. 

The University learned of the positive test on Friday, Aug. 14, and immediately began contact tracing to determine those who may have had exposure. The University is also sanitizing all areas where the individual was on campus. Anyone who had close contact with the infected person will be notified and advised of the appropriate COVID-19 response protocol.  

As the University proactively monitors the entire campus community,  it continues to collaborate and coordinate with Geisinger Health, the Columbia County Department of Health, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

For privacy reasons, Bloomsburg University will release no further details regarding the identity of the individual. 

Bloomsburg University reminds all members of the BU community to continue to wear a face mask, adhere to proper social distancing, and wash hands frequently. Further, it encourages students, faculty, and staff to check in daily via the Husky Health Checker.
