Bloomsburg University Celebrates the Class of 2020
BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania congratulates nearly 1,500 students who will receive their degrees this spring and summer. BU’s 151st commencement ceremony, originally scheduled for the weekend of May 8-9, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Congratulations to all our students who would have been graduating this weekend,” said BU President Bashar W. Hanna. “You all had to overcome a huge obstacle in your final weeks of the semester, but with the grit and determination of a Husky, you persevered and completed your climb and earned the right to be called a college graduate.”
“While some will remember 2020 in a negative light, I will always remember this Class of 2020 as shining lights who never gave up and continued to persist despite the challenging times,” Hanna continued. “We cannot physically be together this weekend to share in the joy and celebrate with you and your families, but our goal is to hold a commencement ceremony in August as long as it is safe to do so. At that time, we’ll celebrate this milestone together as a Husky family.”
Bloomsburg University has rescheduled its spring commencement ceremony until the weekend of August 7-9. More details will be made available at a later date. As has been done in the past, diplomas will be mailed to all students after the verification of grades.
