Bloomsburg University to hold Veterans Suicide Awareness Walk

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Student Veterans Association (BUSVA) will hold its sixth annual Veteran Suicide Awareness Walk on Friday, Nov. 15, starting at 9 a.m. on the school’s academic quad.

The student organization welcomes anyone to join them for the walk to raise money for prevention of suicides by veterans. The goal of the walk is to raise $2,200 ($100 per mile) by carrying the American flag and the flags of the military branches 22 miles (four laps around the quad equals one mile.). The number 22 also represents the number of veterans who commit suicide each day.
