Bloomsburg University to host 17th annual High School Diversity Conference

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will host the 17th annual High School Diversity Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kehr Union Building. The theme of this year’s conference is “Step Up, Step Out, Step Together.”

The conference on diversity invites students from surrounding high schools to spend a full day on BU’s campus attending workshops, lectures, hands-on sessions and panels that address a variety of diversity issues.

The theme of “Step Up, Step Out, Step Together” will anchor the spirit of the activities students will participate in, helping them prepare for diverse events and situations in their lives.

The opening session of the day, the Arts Showcase, features three BU students sharing their artistic works. Julie Petry, a faculty member in the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, will moderate.

The rest of the conference sessions are offered through the collaborative efforts of BU students, staff, faculty, and community members.

The Diversity Conference is possible in part due to a grant from the Berwick Health and Wellness Fund.
