Bloomsburg University Council of Trustees Hold Quarterly Meeting

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees held its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019.

At the meeting the Council of Trustees heard reports from BU President Bashar Hanna; a housing update from Dione Somerville, vice president for student affairs; an enrollment update from Tom Fletcher, vice president for enrollment management; and a University Advancement/BU Foundation report from Erik Evans, vice president for advancement. Also, approval was granted for the purchasing activity under Act 188.

During the meeting, President Bashar Hanna granted faculty emeritus status to Saleem Khan from the Department of Economics. Receiving non-instructional emeritus status were Brenda Hutton, Patricia McGarry, Beth Ann Norton, and Glenda Vansock, while receiving coach emeritus status was Marty Coyne with Robert Wislock, Ph.D., receiving manager emeritus status.

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 8,700 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in five distinct colleges: College of Education, Zeigler College of Business, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Technology, and new Honors College.
