BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will screen three films for the Green Campus 2019 Spring series.
The first movie, “The Bullish Farmer,” will be shown on Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in McCormick Center, room 1303. “The Bullish Farmer” is an award-winning documentary on sustainable agriculture that follows the life of John Ubaldo, a successful Wall Street investment banker who trades his high finance career for a quiet life as a small farmer. John struggles to achieve his goal of growing nutritious food for his family and community as he competes with Big Agriculture.
The second film in the series is titled, “Backfired: When VW Lied to America,” will screen on Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in McCormick Center, room 2303. This film tells the inside story of the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal as it unfolds.
“Living in the Future’s Past,” the last film of the series, will be shown on Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in McCormick Center, room 1303. In the film, Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges— alongside other notable scientists, psychologists, spiritual leaders, and more— explores the challenges and environmental changes facing the world today.
All films in the series are free and open to the public.
The environmental series is supported by Bloomsburg University’s Green Campus Initiative encouraging sustainability, and comprehension of local and global environs.
