BU to host high school diversity conference

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will host the 16th annual high school diversity conference featuring this year’s theme of “Empowering Your Voices” on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kehr Union Building.

The high school conference on diversity invites students from surrounding high schools to spend a full day on BU’s campus attending workshops, lectures, hands-on sessions and panels that address a variety of diversity issues.

This year’s theme “Empowering Your Voices,” is inspired by the advocacy of the students from Parkland High School with the thought of helping local high school students find their voice and assist them in feeling empowered to share their story which is important to a peaceful and more understanding future.

The opening session of the day will feature a theatrical performance for six voices titled, “Who Are You?” written by David Miller, associate professor of music at Bloomsburg University.
