Poet presents reading for Big Dog series

BLOOMSBURG — Poet John Hoppenthaler will read from his work Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the Greenly Center, 50 E. Main St., Bloomsburg, as part of Bloomsburg University’s Big Dog Reading series.

Hoppenthaler is the author of three books of poetry,” Lives of Water,” “Anticipate the Coming Reservoir” and “Domestic Garden,” and co-editor of “This World Company – Jean Valentine.” His work also appears in journals and anthologies, including Virginia Quarterly Review, The Literary Review, A Face to Meet the Faces: An Anthology of Contemporary Persona Poetry and Making Poems: 40 Poems with Commentary by the Poets.

BU’s Big Dog Reading series, sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts’ creative writing program, hosts regionally and nationally known poets and writers. The reading is free and open to the public.
