'A Jazzy Holiday' comes to campus

BLOOMSBURG — In a celebration of American popular songs and holiday hits, Bloomsburg University’s Jazz Ensemble offers “A Jazzy Holiday” on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2:30 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The first half of the program will be a celebration of American popular music, including both instrumental and vocal arrangements, according to director Stephen Clickard, chair of music, theatre and dance. Classics such as “Come Fly With Me,” “What a Wonderful World” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” will be performed by the ensemble.

The second half will be dedicated to holiday tunes in a jazz style, including “Away in a Manger” and “Deck the Halls” arranged by Tom Kubis and “Christmastime is Here” arranged by Clickard.

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
