ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith lectures on campus

BLOOMSBURG — Stephen A. Smith, former long-time columnist with the Philadelphia Inquirer and current ESPN multimedia personality, will be the keynote speaker at Bloomsburg University’s 20th annual Sankofa Conference, “Building a Leadership Culture,” on Saturday, Feb. 22.

His talk, “The Road to Great Leadership,” will be presented at 2 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall, and is open to the public free of charge.

Smith’s career has allowed him to learn firsthand about great leaders and the road to great leadership. He will talk about goal setting, motivation, tough decision making and inspiration.

Smith hosts “The Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco Show” on ESPN Radio New York 98.7 FM and is a featured columnist for He is a regular on “ESPN First Take,” where he appears with sports commentator Skip Bayless.
