BLOOMSBURG— A wide variety of musical composers will be featured in Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Guitar Ensemble concert on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Matthew Slotkin, the concert will feature a guitar sextet, a guitar quartet, and a guitar duo performing music from the 17th century to the 20th century.
Composers of the music on the program include Spanish romantic composer Isaac Albéniz, French romantic opera composer Georges Bizet, French impressionist composer Maurice Ravel, 20th century Cuban guitarist and composer Leo Brouwer, Brazilian guitarist and composer Celso Machado and American 20th century minimalist composer Steve Reich.
