BLOOMSBURG— Author Anna Monardo will visit Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 11, for a lecture and question-and-answer session on her work. The lecture, “Translating the American Dream,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. in McCormick Center, room 1303; the question-and-answer session is set for 3:30 p.m. in Warren Student Services Center, room 004. Both events are open to the public.
Monardo, an author of the Italian-American experience, has written two books and several short stories, poems and essays. She taught a number of creative, non-fiction, and contemporary classes, all based on the belief that “…nothing guides us better than our own questions; our curiosity leads us to our deepest knowledge.” Currently, she teaches a writers workshop at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Monardo also will discuss her novel, “The Courtyard of Dreams,” with BU students who have been studying the work this semester.
Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. BU serves approximately 10,000 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of Education, Business, Liberal Arts and Science and Technology.
