‘Speaking Math in Spanish’ topic of BU lecture

BLOOMSBURG — Paul Loomis, associate professor of mathematics, computer science and statistics, will share insights gained while traveling through Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile in “Speaking Math in Spanish: A South American Road Trip.”

The lecture, free and open to the public, will be presented at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, in Bloomsburg University’s Warren Student Services Center 004.

During six months in South America, Loomis visited universities, gave colloquium talks, sat in on classes and talked with students, faculty and administrators. In this lecture he will discuss how cultural, economic and political factors affect university life.
