New exhibit opens in BU's Haas Gallery

BLOOMSBURG — "Twisted," an exhibition of paintings and mixed-media works on paper by visiting artist Theresa Hackett, will open with a reception Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Haas Gallery. Hackett will speak about her work at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the gallery, located on the second floor of the Haas Center for the Arts. This event is free and open to the public.

Hackett's work has been exhibited internationally and currently is included in the group exhibition "Free Arranger" at the Miami International Airport and in the collections of Dow Jones, Atlantic Records and the Pfizer Corp. This year, she was awarded a fellowship in printmaking/drawing/book arts from the New York Foundation of the Arts.

Hackett earned a master of fine arts degree from Hunter College and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She lives and works in northern Pennsylvania and New York City.
