Barry Hannigan offers third program in BU’s Piano Series

BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s piano series continues with a performance by Barry Hannigan Wednesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. in Carver Hall’s Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium. The series is presented in conjunction with the university’s Celebrity Artist Series.

Hannigan, a professor at Bucknell University, recently received the university’s highest award for inspirational teaching. He has performed in Russia, England, Ireland, Norway and New Zealand and recorded for several music labels, including Radio Telefis Eireann in Dublin, Ireland. Selected to the roster of Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, he received a solo recitalist grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, a grant given “to recognize the nation’s outstanding recitalists.”

Tickets are $3 for students and seniors and $5 for adults. Tickets can be obtained through the Haas Center for the Arts box office at (570) 389-4409 and online at The box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and from noon to 8 p.m. on performance dates.
