Bloomsburg Men's Cross Country Takes Fifth Place at PSAC Championships
EDINBORO--The Bloomsburg University men's cross country team finished in fifth place at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships on Saturday at Edinboro University. Bloomsburg finished with 164 points with Lock Haven claiming the team title.
The Huskies top finisher was sophomore Bobby Furman (Broomall/Marple Newton) who took 23rd in the field of 123 with a time of 27:20, while senior Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton) was right behind in 27:21. Jared Arnold (Philadelphia/Engineering and Science) was third for Bloomsburg in 36th place in 28:01, while Dave Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) was on his heels in 37th in 28:02. Freshman Brent Balmer (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) was fifth for Bloomsburg and 55th in the field with a time of 28:33.
In sixth place was Sam Wisniewski (Lititz/Warwick) in 56th in 28:54, while Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) was 62nd in 29:12. Others competing for the Huskies were Nick Patton in 74th in 29:23, while Michael Hookham (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) was 79th in 29:27 with Auston Martzall (Myerstown/ELCO) 83rd in 29:41.
Bloomsburg will compete next week at the NCAA Regional Championships at Mansfield University.
