Women's Cross Country Team 17th at NCAA Championships
EVANSVILLE, IN- The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team finished 17th out of 24 teams at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Evansville, IN on Saturday.
The Huskies, making their second trip to the NCAA championships in the last three years and first under coach Bernie Empie, were led by senior Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) in 44th place with a time of 22:06 for the 6,000 meter course. Finishing second for Bloomsburg was Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) in 48th in 22:12.
Third for the Huskies was Katie Meck (Dillsburg/Northern) in 99th place overall in 23:04, while Victoria Davis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) was 115th in 23:16 to finish fourth for Bloomsburg. In addition, Krista Donsen (Hanover/South Western) finished in 24:41, while Kelsey Harm (Boothwyn/Cardinal O'Hara) covered the course in 25:38. Katie McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) finished in 25:47 to round out the Huskies squad.
For the Huskies Borealo and Kellock both wrap up their cross country careers at Bloomsburg with impressive seasons. Both runners earned All-PSAC and All-Region honors. Borealo also turned in an impressive win during the season at the Lafayette Invitational in mid-October.
