Huskies Perform Well at Lehigh Paul Short Race
BETHLEHEM--The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team finished second while the men's team finished 15th at the 36th annual Brooks Paul Short Run on the campus of Lehigh University on Friday. The women's team finished with 215 points, while the men totaled 426.
For the women, senior Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) led all Bloomsburg runners and finished in 11th place with a time of 22:00. Senior Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) was close behind with a time of 22:04, finishing in 15th place overall. Right on her heals was sophomore Katie Meck (Dillsburg/Northern) who came in 17th place with a time of 22:10.
Also finishing for the Huskies were freshman Victoria Davis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) with a time of 23:09, sophomore Samantha Matthews (Windsor/Gilenelg Country) with a time of 23:37, sophomore Samantha Rhood (Downingtown/Downingtown West) with a time of 23:41, and Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) with a time of 23:42.
On the men's side, sophomore Bobby Furman (Broomall/Maple Newtown) was the highest team finisher, coming in fifth place overall with a time of 25:16. Senior Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazelton Area) was 14th with a time of 25:27 and junior Jared Arnold (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) was not far behind, coming in 64th place with a time of 26:15.
Other finishers for the men included freshman Brent Balmer (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) in 27:01, freshman Sam Wisniewski (Lititz/Warwick High School) with a time of 27:07, sophomore David Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) with a time of 27:11 and senior Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) with a time of 27:14.
The Huskies are idle until October 17 when they travel to Easton for the Leopard Invitational on the campus of Lafayette College.
