Bloomsburg Women's Cross Country Ranked 12th in National Rankings
BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team is ranked 12th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Division II women's cross country poll for the week of August 27th. Bloomsburg women's squad is the defending PSAC cross country champions for the first time in school history. The 2007 Huskies captured first place at the NCAA East Regional, placing three runners in the top 10.
The Huskies return four of their top runners from last year's squad, including juniors Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn), Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin), Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) and Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton). Kellock finished 9th at the PSAC championships and 53rd at the NCAA Championships, while Schwing was one four Huskies to finish in the top thirteen at the PSAC championships. Borealo and Shuck both finished among the top 150 finishers at NCAA Championships last fall.
The Huskies finished the 2007 season ranked 9th in the final poll.
Bloomsburg will open its season on the road at Bucknell University on Friday, August 29th at 5:00 p.m.
