Bloomsburg Cross Country Teams Finish Fifth in PSAC Championships
BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams took fifth place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship meet at Lock Haven University on Saturday.
The men's team scored 149 points to finish in fifth behind Shippensburg, while Edinboro became the conference champions in first place. The women tied Indiana University (Pa.) for fifth place with 159 points, while Shippensburg became the PSAC champions with 70 points.
On the men's side with a total of 131 racers, Jim Stockley (Elverson/Twin Valley) earned All-Conference honors, as the Huskies' top finisher in 14th place with a time of 25:33. Jared Arnold (Philadelphia/Carver) finished in 26th place with a time of 25:54. Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was 29th in 26:01, while Freshman Bobby Furman (Broomall/Marple Newton) finished 34th in 26:06. Taking 46th was Dave Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) in 26:29, while Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton Area) was 48th in 26:32. Finishing in 59th was Auston Martzall (Myerstown/ELCO) in 26:49.
For the women, in a field of 143, earning All-Conference honors, was the top finisher for the Huskies Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/ North Penn) with an 8th place finish in a time of 21:49. Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) also earned All-Conference honors, finishing 13th in 22:02. Katie Meck (Dillsburg/Northern) finished 40th in 23:14, while Samantha Rhood (Downingtown/Downingtown West) was 48th in 23:34, while Shannon Hoffman (Watsontown/Warrior Run) was 50th in 23:37. Finished 55th was Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) in 23:49, while Caitlin Heller (Bloomsburg/Nixa) was 59th in 23:55.
The Huskies will compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals at Slippery Rock on Saturday, November 8th.
