Bloomsburg University Cross Country Competes at Penn State Meet
BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Penn State National Invitational on Friday. The event featured a mainly Division I field and was the Huskies last major event prior to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships.
The Bloomsburg women took 18th place with Ashley Shuck (Milton/ Milton) leading the way with a 74th place finish (out of 300 runners) in a time of 22:21 for the six kilometer course. Shannon Hoffman (Watsontown/ Warrior Run) finished in 95th place with a time of 22:51 while Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/ North Penn) was 102nd overall running the course in 22:57.
Angela Borealo (Easton/ Easton) took 107th place in 23:03. Katie Meck (Dillsburg/ Northern) was 123rd in 23:22 while Beth Schwing (Hershey/ Lower Dauphin) finished in 23:42 and Katie McShay (Springfield/ Cardinal O'Hora) in 23:58.
The Bloomsburg men took 21st place with Jimmy Stockley (Elverson/ Twin Valley) leading the team with an 88th place finish (out of 301 runners) in a time of 26:56 for the 5.2 mile course. Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/ Pope John XXIII) finished in 112th with a time of 27:08 while Bob Furman (Broomall/ Marple Newtown) was 127th overall running the course in 27:23.
Jared Arnold (Philadelphia/ G.W. Carver) took 142nd place in 27:43, while Dave Moyer (Boyertown/ Boyertown Area) was 145th in 27:48. Misha Litvinov (Drums/ Hazleton Area) finished in 28:03 and Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg/ Mechanicsburg) ran the course in 28:24.
Bloomsburg returns to action on Saturday, October 25th when they travel to Elizabethtown College for a 10:00 a.m. race.
