Kelly Modes Leads Bloomsburg Women's Soccer To Win

EAST STROUDSBURG - Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over East Stroudsburg on Tuesday.

Modes got Bloomsburg on the board just 6:03 into the game when she scored on an assist from Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central). The score stayed 1-0 till late in the first half when the Warriors Maria Spitler scored with about a minute half to go before halftime.

Modes then got the game winning goal in the 74th minute on a corner kick. From there Bloomsburg goalie Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) came up with 13 saves in the game to secure the victory.

Bloomsburg goes to 3-4-1, 3-2-1 in the PSAC East, with the win. The Huskies host Edinboro on Saturday at 2 p.m.
