Huskies Lose at California (PA)

CALIFORNIA (PA.) - The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team lost to California (Pa.) by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.

California scored first when Amanda Heister, assisted by Sam Regney, scored a goal in the 10th minute. Amanda Heister then gave California to a 2-0 lead when she scored an unassisted goal in the 29th minute.

Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) got the Huskies on the board when she scored an unassisted goal in the 39th minute and to make it a 2-1 game. In the 68th minute, Brittany Sullivan scored off an assist by Amanda Heister, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Vulcans. The Huskies tried to rally back when Kim Turner (Walnutport/Northampton) scored in the 77th minute, assisted by Samantha Fox (Southampton/William Tennant), but that would be all the scoring for Bloomsburg. Francis Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) had 8 saves in goal for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies, 4-6-2, 3-3-1 in the PSAC East, will play at Mansfield on Saturday October 17th at 1:30 p.m.
