Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Ranked Third in NCAA Poll

BLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team is ranked third in the Atlantic Region of the Division II NCAA women's soccer poll for Wednesday October 15, 2008.

The Huskies, 10-3, have won four consecutive games including two by shutout last week.

Lauren Hess (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) scored the lone goal of the game in the 71st minute in a 1-0 win over Mansfield on Tuesday, while Kelsey Stoka (Langhorne/Neshaminy) had a hat-trick with three goals and one assist in a 5-0 win against Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. With the two shutouts, Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ) has six shutouts on the season.

West Chester is ranked number one in the Atlantic Region of the poll with a 9-3 record, while Kutztown has the second spot with a 7-3-2 record. The top six teams in each region will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament.

The Huskies will play at Shippensburg on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m.
