Women's Soccer Names Captains for 2007
BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University women's soccer coach Sandy Dickson has announced that senior Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomenville) and junior Ashley Brucker (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) have been selected as captains for the 2007 season. The pair was selected as captains in voting by their teammates.
Moses, a goalkeeper, saw action in 17 games with 16 starts a year ago. She had a 1.22 goals against average and a .822 saves percentage for the year. Her best game of the 2006 season came against Slippery Rock when she made 10 saves in a double overtime, 0-0 tie with Slippery Rock.
Brucker, a forward, played in 18 games last season with 10 of them being starts. She scored two goals and assisted on one. As a freshman in 2005, Brucker scored three times and assisted on three others for nine total points.
“Brit and Ashley are both ready to assume that role of captain for the women's soccer program,” said Dickson. “I am pleased that their teammates have selected them for this important role.”
Bloomsburg will open its 2007 season on Saturday, August 25th at home against California (PA) at 3 p.m.
