BLOOMSBURG-Three Bloomsburg University women's soccer players have been named to the 2006 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Team. Freshman midfielder Kelly Modes (Langhorne/ Neshaminy) was named to the first team, while senior midfielder Alex Totino (Port Jefferson Station, NY/ Sachem) and freshman defender Eileen Alexander (East Northport, NY/ Commack) were named to the second team.
Modes was the Huskies leading scorer in her rookie season totaling 14 points on six goals and two assists. Four of her six goals came in wins or ties for Bloomsburg. Her season highlights include scoring the game-wining goal in a 3-2 win over C.W. Post on September 9 and scoring a goal against West Chester, who up until that point had not allowed a goal at home since the 2004 season. Modes also added a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Millersvile.
Totino started all 18 games for the Huskies and was a key player for the Huskies on both sides of the ball. She picked up three assists on the season including one in a 3-2 win over C.W. Post, another in 2-0 win against Mansfield and she also assisted Modes on her goal against West Chester. Totino finished her career at Bloomsburg with six goals and seven assists.
Eileen Alexander started in 16 games and was the Huskies top player on defense in 2006. She anchored a defense that was fourth in the conference in goals against average and goals allowed. In addition she scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick versus East Stroudsburg on August 30 and added an assist in a 2-1 win over Millersville.
The Huskies finished the season with a record 5-9-4, 4-6-3 in the PSAC East and finished in fourth place in the conference.
