BU Wrestlers Moley and Schmelyun Nationally Ranked

BLOOMSBURG-Two Bloomsburg University wrestlers, Matt Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) and Rick Schmelyun (New Oxford/Bermudian Springs), are ranked nationally in the latest NCAA Division I rankings.

Moley, a senior who wrestles at 157 pounds, is ranked fifth in the country. He is 5-1 this season after posting three wins at the Northeast Duals last weekend, including a pin against Michigan and a technical fall against Central Michigan. The victory in the Michigan match marked the 100th win in Moley's collegiate career. He is a two-time All-American earning a sixth place finish at the national tournament as a junior after an eighth place finish as a sophomore.

Schmelyun is ranked 18th in the nation by Intermat with a record of 11-3 this season. Schmelyun, who wrestles at 165-pounds, was a national qualifier for the first time in his career last season after posting a mark of 32-15. He took third place at the Navy Classic earlier this season and picked up two wins at the Northeast Duals last weekend, including a 7-2 victory against Columbia. Schmelyun has 99 career wins as a member of the Huskies, just one away from becoming the 15th wrestler in Bloomsburg history to win 100 matches.

Bloomsburg will wrestle in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships this Saturday at Edinboro.
