The Huskies (14-7, 6-3) got out to an early 7-0 lead 2:57 into the contest. East Stroudsburg countered with three straight points but Bloomsburg responded by going on a 14-0 run over the next 6:12, with Wieller scoring eight points. The Warriors (3-18, 1-7) cut the lead to 26-15 with 3:42 left before the Huskies 10-2 run to end the half gave them a 19-point lead going into the locker room.
Bloomsburg came out strong in the second half as back-to-back three-pointers by freshman guard Jordan Pasik (Gilbertsville/St. Pius X) and freshman forward Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland/Tri-Valley) gave the Huskies a 42-19 lead at the 17:40 mark. The Warriors cut their deficit to 44-26 three minutes later before a 14-5 Huskies run gave them a 58-31 advantage with 7:54 left to play. Bloomsburg then put away the Warriors, outscoring them 14-10 down the stretch to gain the 31-point victory.
Wieller went 9-of-9 from the foul line and added six rebounds to go along with her 17 points. Sophomore guard Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and added five assists while freshman forward Christine Sereta (Drums/Hazleton Area) had 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Pasik, getting her first start of the season, scored 11 points and posted five steals in 24 minutes.
The Huskies, currently third in the PSAC East, continue their push for the conference tournament when they travel to West Chester on Saturday to face the Golden Rams (14-7, 4-4). Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
