Huskies Tune Up Before PSAC Championships Next Weekend
SUSQUEHANNA - The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Susquehanna Open at Susquehanna University this weekend, as five runners qualified for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships.
On the women's side, senior Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) won in the mile run with a time of 5:12.49. Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg-South) qualified in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.62. Two Huskies qualified in the 800 meter run, as Vicki Davis (Schuylkill/Schuylkill Haven) finished in 2:25.12 and Erin Hanosek (Macungie/Emmaus) finished in 2:27.34. In the 55 meter Hurdles event Jaime Petrella (Ringwood, NJ/Lakeland Regional) qualified with a time of 9.31.
For the men, sophomore David Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) finished in third place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16.14.03. Mathew Stuck (Milton/Milton) finished in second place in the men's pole vault with a height of 3.95 meters. In the mile run, Jared Arnold (Philadelphia/Engineering & Science) finished in fourth place with a time of 4:29.84.
The Huskies will run in the PSAC Championships at Edinboro University next Saturday and Sunday.
