Bloomsburg Posts PSAC Qualifying Times at West Chester Meet
WEST CHESTER-The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track teams took part in the West Chester Golden Ram Collegiate Invitational on Saturday.
Three Huskies posted qualifying times or marks for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. In the 5000 meters, Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton) took first place overall in a time of 15:29.76. In the 400 meter hurdles John Barnett (Chester Springs/Downingtown East) qualified for PSAC's with a time of 57.89 seconds, while in the pole vault, Matt Stuck (Milton/Milton) tied for first in the event with a mark of 4.15 meters (13.61 feet).
For the women, Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) posted a qualifying time in the 1500 meter finishing second overall in the event in 4:48.99. Borealo also posted a PSAC-qualifying time in the 3000-meter event and taking third overall in 10:49.33. Also in the 3000 Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove/Bishop McDevitt) was fourth in a PSAC-qualifying time of 10:49.75.
In the pole vault Ashley Mancil (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) posted a school record and PSAC-qualifying mark of 2.90 meters (9.51 feet). In the hammer throw Laura Schlotterbeck (Berwick/Berwick) set a new school record with a throw of 29.85 meters (97 feet 11 inches).
Other results saw Kaila Hassler (Schnecksville/Parkland) finish fourth in the fourth in the 100 meter dash in 13.19 seconds, while Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.20 seconds.
Bloomsburg will compete in the Jim Taylor Invitational next week at Susquehanna University.
