Five Huskies Set PSAC-Qualifying Marks at the Bison Open

LEWISBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Bison Open at Bucknell University this weekend, as five runners set Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship qualifying times.
On the women's side, senior Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) ran the fourth-fastest 5,000 meter time in school history, finishing in 17:58.37. Sophomore Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) also qualified for the 5,000 meters, finishing with a time of 19:16.97. Freshman Vicki Davis (Schuylkill/Schuylkill Haven) qualified in the 800 meter run, finishing with a time of 2:25.69, the sixth fastest time in Bloomsburg history. Fellow freshman Kaila Hassler (Schnecksville/Parkland) ran a qualifying time in the 60 meters, crossing the line in 8.28 in the prelims then 8.29 in the finals.
For the men, sophomore Bobby Furman (Broomall/Marple Newtown) also ran a PSAC qualifying time for the 5,000 meters, crossing the line with a time of 15:55.46. Sophomore running mate David Moyer (Boyertown/Boyertown) narrowly missed the qualifying time, finishing in 16:00.86.
The Huskies hit the track again on Sunday when they travel to East Stroudsburg to take part in the DeShriver Invitational.
