Kellock Sets School and Meet Record at DeShriver Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG-- Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) set a school and meet record in the mile to lead the Bloomsburg University men's and women's track team at the East Stroudsburg DeShriver Invitational on Saturday.

Kellock, a sophomore, ran a time of 5:081.10 setting a new school and meet record and finishing first in a field of 31. Her time also qualified her for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships. Kellock, who a year ago ran a time of 5:47 in the same event, broke the school record of 5:09.60 set 25 years ago.

Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) took first in the 1000-meter event in a time of 3:04.70, while Amber Hackenberg was second in 3:07.81, while Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) was seventh in 3:17.37.

At 400 meters, Sandy Newell (St. Mary's/Elk County Catholic) improved her season best with a time of 61.39 seconds to finish sixth in a field of 35. In the 800-meters, Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) was fourth of 46 in a time of 2:27.49, while in the long jump, Connie Raineri (Gilbertsville/St. Pius X) qualified for the PSAC championships with a mark of 16 feet, five and 3/4 inches.

In relay action, the 4 x 400 team of Raineri, Schwing, Borealo and Newell was sixth of 15 teams in 4:17.40.

For the men's team's team, Dan Tallerico (Pittsburgh/North Hills) was third of 49 runners in the 800-meters in a time of 1:58.57. In the mile, Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was fifth of 41 runners in 4:29.80, while in the 5000-meter race, Auston Martzall was ninth of 22 in a time of 16:14.99. At 400-meters, Jamie Waack (Leesport/Schuylkill Valley) was 10th in a time of 53.37 seconds.
