Bloomsburg Track Competes at Bucknell Bison Open

LEWISBURG- The Bloomsburg University track team competed at the Bucknell Bison Open this weekend.

In the men's 5,000-meters on Friday night, Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton) took 10th place (15:52.03) in a field of 26 runners, just barely missing a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time. In the women's 5K, Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) placed seventh out of 17 runners, with a time of 19:24.86.

In Saturday's action, Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) and Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) each competed in both the mile and the 3,000-meters. In the mile they posted times of 4:35.95 and 5:20.49 and then returned to the track in the afternoon for the 3000 where they ran 9:00.41 and 10:37.66 respectively.

Joining Schwing with a PSAC qualifying time in the 3K was Amber Hackenberg (Middleberg/Middleberg) who posted a 10:47.92. In addition, Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) dropped her previous 3,000-meter time to 11:04.14.

The Huskies will next compete at the Armory Meet in New York on February 2 and 3.
