All-PSAC Singles, Doubles
BLOOMSBURG-- Two members of the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team have been named All-PSAC (All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) for the 2009 season.
Named All-PSAC in singles play is Fernando Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh), while Perez and Ryan Glubo (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) were named All-PSAC in doubles.
As a singles player Perez posted a mark of 19-6 playing at number one. He ended the season by winning five straight matches, including going 2-0 in NCAA play. One of those victories in the NCAA tournament was in three-sets where he rallied to win after dropping the opening set. He was named the PSAC Men's Player of the Week on March 1st after going 3-1 in the first weeks of the spring season. In October of 2008, Perez also won the PSAC Singles title.
In doubles play Perez and Glubo became partners in early March and went on to win 11 of the 14 matches they played together. In their last 10 matches of the year they posted a mark of 7-3 and went 4-1 in post-season play, including a mark of 3-1 in NCAA championship competition.
Bloomsburg posted a record of 12-8 on the season and reached the NCAA Division II championship Sweet 16 round.
