Fisher Named PSAC Central Softball Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University softball player Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 28. It is the second straight week and fourth time in five weekst hat Fisher has won the award.


Fisher went 4-0 for the Huskies last week with a 1.02 ERA. She fanned 37 and walked just six in 27 1/3 innings of work. The junior started the week with an 11-strikeout effort in a win over Lock Haven allowing just one earned run in a 10-4 Bloomsburg victory. In the nightcap against Lock Haven she pitched two and third scoreless innings of relief against the Lady Eagles striking out five. Against Mercyhurst she picked up two wins. In game one she fanned seven in a 9-4 win, then, pitched four shutout innings of relief in game two to pick up the victory. She ended the week with an 11-strikeout effort in a 6-1 win over Clarion. For the week she allowed just 23 hits and four earned runs.

On the season Fisher is 12-3 with a 1.25 ERA and 133 strikeouts in 100 innings of work.

Bloomsburg, 23-3, will play at Mansfield on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
