Fisher Named PSAC Central Co-Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University softball pitcher Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) co-Central Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 5.

In two games last week, Fisher went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA. She allowed just one hit in four innings against Holy Family while striking out six and walking just one. Then on Sunday, Fisher helped the Huskies knock off the sixth-ranked Lock Haven Lady Eagles, 2-1. She allowed just five hits (all singles), struck out four and did not walk a batter in earning the victory. For the week she allowed just six hits in 12 innings, walked just one and fanned 10.

On the season Fisher is off to a great start in her sophomore season. She is a team-leading 10-1 on the year with a 0.44 ERA with five shutouts and eight complete games. She has fanned 79 and issued just 15 walks in 63 innings of work.

Fisher shared the award with Lock Haven's Kristen Erb.

Bloomsburg, 20-4, 5-1 in the PSAC Central, will host Mansfield on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
