Bloomsburg Softball Picked to Finish Second in PSAC East

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University softball team has been picked to finish second in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, according to the PSAC softball coaches.

Bloomsburg returns 17 players to a squad that advanced to the second round of the PSAC playoffs a year ago before falling to eventual national runner-up Lock Haven. The Huskies finished with an 18-6 record in the PSAC, 38-15 overall.

The Huskies return three all-PSAC Selections from last season in Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville), Stacey Krupiewski (Trooper/Methacton) and Nikki Shiko (Kulpmont/Southern Columbia).

In the Eastern Division, Kutztown is picked to finish first followed by Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, Millersville, Mansfield and West Chester. In the West, Lock Haven is followed by Edinboro, IUP, California, Slippery Rock and Clarion.

The Huskies open their season on March 8th against Armstrong Atlantic State University at the Smash-Hit Tournament. The Huskies open their PSAC schedule March 29th, when they host East Stroudsburg.
