BLOOMSBURG- Two Bloomsburg University scholar-athletes have been chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as members of the 2007 ESPN the Magazine All-District Academic Team for their respective sports. Senior baseball standout Matt Robinson (York/Red Lion) was selected to the District 2, College Division second team, while junior softball pitcher Sheelin Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) was named to the District 2, College Division third team.
Robinson, who posted a 3.83 grade point average as a business education major, contributed to a Husky team that ended the 2007 season with 19 wins, the most the team has posted in five years. He ended the season with a .221 batting average and also hit four doubles, two home runs, and recorded 18 RBI. This is the second year in a row that Robinson has been a second team selection on the All-District Academic team.
Fisher, who posted a 3.87 grade point average as an elementary education major, was a key part of a Huskies pitching staff that lead the team to a 35-13 overall record and also earned a spot in the NCAA Regional's. Fisher ended the 2007 season with a record of 10-3 and an ERA of 2.11. She struck out 91 batters and only surrendered 28 walks on the season.
