Bloomsburg University Swimmers Fall to Clarion
CLARION- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams lost to Clarion on Saturday. The men lost 152-105, while the women fell by a score of 162-121.
In the men's meet, Jeremy Frey (Pipersville/Central Bucks East) was a two-time winner for the Huskies taking first in the 200-back and the 200-IM. In the 200-back Frey swam to a time of 2:00.51, while in the 200-IM Frey posted a time of 1:59.24. In the 200-fly Ben Safran (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) had a first place finish with a time of 2:01.55. In addition, Tim Dorsch (Schwenksville/Souderton Area) had second place finishes in the 100- and 200-breast stroke events. In the 100 he posted a time of 1:03.72, while in the 200 he had a time of 2:23.37. Erik Stefferud (West Chester/West Chester Henderson) was second in the 500-free in 5:13.22 and third in the 100-back in 59.82 seconds.
For the women, Brittany McNeil (Oxford/Oxford Area) was first in two events, the 100-breast in 1:09.18 and the 200-breast in 2:29.72. Also earning first place finishes were Miranda Steel (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough), in the 500-free in 5:19.18, while Bridget Hilferty (Royersford/Perkiomen Valley) was first in the 1650 free in 18:17.11.
Also, Sarah Grawe (Stafford, VA/North Stafford) had a second place finish in 200-back in 2:14.53 and a third place finish in the 200-free in 2:01.10. In the 200-fly Ashley Carroll was second in 2:21.42, while in the 100-free Julia DeVincent (Maple Glen/Upper Dublin) was second in 57.89.
Bloomsburg swims at the Zippy Invitational Dec 4-6 at the University of Akron.
