BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University men's basketball player Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/George Washington) was selected to the pre-season All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team.
Jefferson, who was named to the All-PSAC first team last season, is Bloomsburg's leading returning scorer and rebounder. Last season he averaged 19.1 points per game and finished the season with a field goal percentage of .488. In his 26 starts, Jefferson was .726 from the free-throw line and 12-41 from beyond the arc. On defense he had a total of 185 rebounds and 40 blocks.
For his career, Jefferson has 737 points and 323 rebounds. He needs just 263 points to become the 23rd player in school history to top the 1,000-point plateau.
Bloomsburg starts its regular season with a home game against Penn State Hazleton at the Nelson Field House. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
