Pugliese, entering his 15th season as a basketball coach, was an assistant at Division II UMass-Lowell a year ago and helped the River Hawks to a 24-7 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament where they advanced to the second round. Pugliese has also coached at Randolph-Macon College, St. Bonaventure University and Gannon University
From 1993-2000, Pugliese was the head boys' basketball coach at Roswell (GA) High School, compiling a 151-47 overall record. His 1997-98 Hornets finished with a 28-4 record and finished the year as Class 5A State Champions. Pugliese was honored at the 1997 Naismith Basketball Awards as Georgia Boys' Coach of the Year. He was honored in 1996, 1997 and 1999 as Region 6A Coach of the Year as well as 1995-98 Fulton County Boys' Coach of the Year.
Pugliese is a graduate of Auburn University and earned his Masters Degree while coaching at St. Bonaventure University.
Pugliese is single and has two children; Hayden Leigh (8) and Cameron Thomas (4).
Former Huskies basketball star Shawn Munford begins his first seasonas an assistant with the men's basketball program.
Munford played for the Huskies from 1997-98 to 2000-01 where he finished with 1,354 points, 10th on the all-time scoring list. Munford is also second in career assists and third in steals all-time at Bloomsburg. He was also named to the first team All-PSAC East following his senior season, when he led the team with 15.4 points per game and a .422 three-point percentage. In his four seasons a member of the Huskies Munford helped the team post a record of 79-34 with four PSAC playoff appearances.
Following his career at Bloomsburg, Munford played for the New York Nationals, the opposing counterpart of the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters.
