BLOOMSBURG- Kimberly Springman (Downingtown/Bishop Shanahan), a freshman member of the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team, has been named Division II Rookie of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com. The Huskies are 7-5 on the year, 7-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Springman started her week by recording a hat trick and adding two assists to lead the Huskies to a 14-9 win on the road at East Stroudsburg on April 10th. On April 12th, Springman had a goal and four ground balls in Bloomsburg's dominating 24-1 victory over Slippery Rock. In an 8-3 win at Millersville on April 14th, Springman had an assist, two ground balls and caused two turnovers to help the Huskies record another conference win. She ended her week by recording another hat trick in Bloomsburg's 17-8 win over Indiana (PA) on Wednesday.
For the season, Springman is fifth on the team in goals scored with 14 and is third on the team in assists with seven.
Bloomsburg return to action tomorrow when they visit West Chester at 1:00 p.m.
