Riley Powers Huskies To Win
BLOOMSBURG- Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) scored one goal and had one assist to lead the number two-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 4-0 win over Slippery Rock on Monday afternoon.
The Huskies got on the board first when Alexis Weber (Bear, DE/William Penn) scored off a crossing pass from Riley 12:59 into the contest. Bloomsburg made it 2-0 in the 25th minute of play when Kara Stahl (Mifflinburg/Mifflinburg) passed to Sandy Anceravage (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) in the circle and Anceravage drilled it home.
In the second half, Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) scored on a penalty corner with Aime Sgarlat (Dallas/Lake-Lehman) getting the assist. Bloomsburg closed out the scoring when Riley got her 14th goal of the season on an assist from Amanda Deloy (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen) with 12:45 left to play in the game.
The Bloomsburg midfield and defender play was outstanding in the game controlling the action most of the game and not allowing the Rock (2-10) a shot on goal.
Bloomsburg goes to 12-1 on the year and will host CW Post on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
