Huskies Cruise to 10-0 Win over Seton Hill
BLOOMSBURG-- Breanne Tobin (Perkasie/Pennridge), Erin Hench (Loysville/West Perry) and Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) each scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 10-0 win over Seton Hill University on Thursday at Sports Stadium.
The Huskies scored 6:10 into the game when Tobin hit the back of the cage unassisted. Just over six minutes later Riley scored her fourth goal of the season to put Bloomsburg on top 2-0. Hench scored her first goal of the game at the 19:02 mark of the half to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead at the break.
Bloomsburg poured it on in the second half with Riley, Tobin and Hench all scoring their second goal of the game. In additional Ashley Miller (Shermans Dale/West Perry), Alexis Weber (Bear, DE/William Penn), Niki Leone (Newtown/Council Rock North) and Sandy Anceravage (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) all scored for Bloomsburg in the second half of play. Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) contributed two assisted and Aime Sgarlat (Dallas/Lake-Lehman) one for the Huskies.
The Bloomsburg defense was once again exceptional not allowing a shot on goal. It was the third straight shutout for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg, 3-0, has won 18 straight games dating back to last year and 29 of its last 30 going back to 2007. The Huskies return to action on Monday night at 6 p.m. hosting Kutztown.
