BU Field Hockey Ranked Number One in Pre-Season Poll

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University field hockey team, the three-time defending NCAA Division II champions, were selected number one in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) pre-season poll. The Huskies received nine of the 10 first place votes to easily out-distance the second place team from UMass-Lowell.

Bloomsburg is off to a 2-0 start after opening season wins against Houghton (5-0) and Stonehill College (4-0). Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) led the offense with three goals, while Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) added two goals and one assist. The Huskies have now 17 straight games dating back to last season and 28 of their last 29 games dating back to 2007.

The Huskies will host Seton Hill College on Thursday at 4 p.m.
