Bloomsburg Field Hockey Rebounds with 6-1 Win over C.W. Post
BLOOMSBURG- Senior Breanne Tobin (Perkasie/Pennridge) and sophomore Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) scored two goals apiece as Bloomsburg University rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 6-1 win over C.W. Post in PSAC East field hockey action on Wednesday evening.
The Huskies (4-1, 1-1) got on the board first when Tobin took a rebound off the goalie and put it in the back of the net just 2:39 into the game. Junior Julia Rush (Quakertown/Quakertown) got into the action less than two minutes later when she scored off a penalty corner, her first goal of the season. Riley gave Bloomsburg a 3-0 advantage when she took a shot of the post and put it past the goalie at the 7:46 mark.
Bloomsburg continued the scoring when senior Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) shot a rocket from 20 yards out just over eight minutes into the second half. The Pioneers got on the scoreboard when Amanda Nann scored off a penalty corner at the 54:48 mark. The Huskies answered 13 minutes later when Tobin scored her second goal of the night and Riley added her second with less than 30 seconds left in the game.
Senior Caitlyn Koczynski (Yardley/Neshaminy) started in goal for the Huskies, registering four saves.
The Huskies are back in action when they travel to Seton Hill for a 4:00 start on Saturday.
