BLOOMSBURG-- For the fifth time this season Bloomsburg University field hockey standout Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Vanartsdalen helped lead Bloomsburg to a 3-0 week with PSAC East wins over Millersville and Kutztown and a non-conference win over Philadelphia. She then scored two goals on just three shots and assisted on two other scores in Bloom's 7-2 win over Kutztown that clinched the PSAC East title for the Huskies and with it, the right to host the PSAC Tournament. She then wrapped up the week with another two goal, two assist performance in an 8-0 win over Philadelphia on Sunday. With her four assists, she now has 54 for her career, just five shy of tying the all-time NCAA Division II record. She already holds the D-II marks for goals and points. Her 272 career points also now rank sixth on the NCAA all-time list, regardless of division.
Bloomsburg, 17-1, will play at Mansfield on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
