Vanartsdalen Named PSAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University field hockey player Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 14.
Vanartsdalen set two school records while leading her team to a 3-0 week. She started the week with two goals in a 3-1 win over East Stroudsburg, the second of which gave her the Bloomsburg single-season points record. One night later she registered two more goals against Seton Hill, giving the junior the school career points record, as well. She finished the week with another goal in a 4-1 decision against Mansfield, running her totals to 71 points this season and 178 for her career.
This PSAC Player of the Week award is the second for Vanartsdalen this season and the fourth time a Bloomsburg player has been so honored.
The Huskies, 15-2, will host Shippensburg on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a matchup of PSAC rivals.
