BLOOMSBURG- For the second straight week and third time this season, Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/ Lower Moreland) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for the period ending October 8th. Vanartsdalen shared the honor with East Stroudsburg's Ashley Kocis.
Vanartsdalen was a key contributor in two overtime victories for the Huskies. First, against Mansfield, she evened the score at 1-0 after the Mountaineers took the early lead. Her top performance came against second-place IUP, when she netted three goals and added an assist. She scored the game-tying goal with just 1:09 remaining, and then assisted on the game-winner in overtime. For the season, Vanartsdalen leads the PSAC in points, with 18 goals and seven assists.
Bloomsburg, 13-0, 9-0 in the PSAC, will travel to Houghton today at 4 p.m.
