BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University field hockey player Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/ Lackawanna Trail) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Co-Player of the Week for the period ending October 16. She shares the award with Shippensburg's Natalie Grazan.
Kropa was the top scorer on a Bloomsburg team that added three more wins in an unbeaten season. She began the week with two goals and an assist in a 4-0 win over Houghton on Monday. On Wednesday, she added two more goals in a 6-1 win over Millersville. On Saturday, in a 3-1 win at Kutztown, Kropa added a late goal that put the game away for the Huskies. For the week she netted five goals on just nine shots. On the season, Kropa ranks second in the PSAC with 44 points on 20 goals and four assists.
Bloomsburg, 16-0, 11-0 in the PSAC, will host Slippery Rock tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the Sports Stadium.
